Let's Fight this Weekend, K?

Here's to a fabulous weekend. I was just thinking that perhaps what I'm choosing might be something you want to choose too. As I'm looking ahead to Saturday and Sunday, somewhere in the midst of the hustle and bustle (lacrosse games, shuttling Savannah and her friends around, mission trip meetings, Sunday school lesson preparation, teaching my class, worship at church, visiting with friends and family, etc.), I'm intentionally choosing to create some sacred spaces with the Lord, so I can find rest for my soul and just enjoy Him in the midst of the madness of life. Taking in the wonders of His revealed mind to me through the pages of Holy Scripture, as well as sitting in silence before Him and allowing His love to soak this soul.

  • Where His life and Word can breathe some supernatural Presence and perspective into these weary and conflicted bones.
  • Where the Prince of Peace promises to fill me up to flood my heart and mind with a stability, that is not of this world.
  • In fact, it's a peace so otherworldly, it's indescribable. It's the very real and wondrous Presence of God.

Beloved, it's a fight to seize more of Jesus' Presence with all the distractions pounding us from every angle. You are not imagining that it is difficult.  It is!  But it's a fight we will never regret having again and again and again.

Fight on, Sister!

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 1 Timothy 6:12 (ESV)

What is eternal life?

And this is eternal life: [it means] to know (to perceive, recognize, become acquainted with, and understand) You, the only true and real God, and [likewise] to know Him, Jesus [as the] Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah), Whom You have sent. John 17:3 (AMP)
